A 25% deposit books your date (spring 2027 work, fence excepted: no deposit until spring). We confirm the start date, equipment access and materials.

Old sod, beds or fencing come out. We excavate and haul with our own Bobcat and trailers — no waiting on a sub.
Grading & prep
We re-cut the grade so water runs away from the foundation, then prep the base for whatever's going on top.
Installation
Sod, rock, gravel, fence, beds, planting — installed to spec, seams tight, edges clean.
Cleanup & walkthrough
Debris hauled, site swept, and a walkthrough with you. Final invoice on completion.

What does a sod replacement cost in Calgary or Chestermere?
Most residential sod replacements in Calgary and Chestermere — also called a sod redo or lawn replacement — run between about $2,000 and $6,000, depending on the size of the yard and how much regrading and tear-out it needs. Replacing a failing lawn costs more than laying new sod on ground that's already graded. We set a fixed written price after measuring on site. How much does yard grading cost?
Grading is usually quoted as part of a larger sod, drainage or yard project rather than on its own. Because we run our own Bobcat and trailers, we do the excavation and hauling ourselves instead of subcontracting it — which keeps grading costs down. When's the best time to install sod in the Calgary area?
Late spring through early fall — roughly May to mid-October. New sod needs consistent watering and moderate temperatures to root in, so we work around the peak heat of mid-summer and the first hard frosts. Early fall roots nearly as well as spring, and grading and other dirt work carry on after the sod season until the ground freezes hard. Do you do lawn care or mowing?
No. Local Lawns is a landscape construction company. We install and rebuild yards — sod, grading, rock, gravel, fencing, beds, planting — but we don't mow, fertilize, or provide weekly maintenance. We also don't install artificial turf.
Who does the work — your own crew or subcontractors?
Our own. We run our own Bobcat and trailers and self-perform removal, excavation, hauling, grading, installation and cleanup. You deal with one crew from tear-out to the final rake.
