Sod Installation in Calgary

Most Calgary sod jobs fail for the same reason: the sod was fine, the ground under it wasn't. We spend the time on the part you don't see — the grade, the base, the prep — because that's what decides whether your lawn is still good in five years.

What a proper sod install includes

• Strip or kill the existing lawn where we're replacing turf
• Re-cut the grade so water runs away from the house and off the lot
• Bring in screened topsoil where the base is thin or full of construction clay
• Rake and roll the base level — no dips, no humps
• Lay #1 nursery sod, staggered, seams tight, edges cut clean around beds and walks
• Roll the finished lawn and water it in
• Haul the debris and hand you a watering schedule

New build, addition, or replacement?

New builds: the developer's rough grade almost never drains right. We fix it before the sod goes down — doing it now is a fraction of doing it later.

Additions and side yards: matching an existing lawn means matching the grade and soil level so the seam disappears.

Timing

A typical residential yard is one to three days on site once it's booked — longer if there's significant regrading or drainage work.

How soon can I walk on new sod? Mow it?
