Two home markets
Chestermere & Calgary
We're a Chestermere company and we work Calgary just as much. Most of our jobs are in the newer communities of both — where the builder laid sod fast over ground that hadn't settled, and the yard has drained wrong ever since. That is the case for replacing a failing lawn rather than patching it.

FAQ
Common questions about our service area
Where do you work outside Calgary and Chestermere?
Airdrie, Okotoks, Strathmore, Langdon, Cochrane and Rocky View County — all in our normal service area, not a special trip.
Is there a travel charge for outlying areas?
Not for anywhere on this list, from Calgary and Chestermere out to Cochrane, Okotoks and Strathmore. Further out, ask — we'll tell you whether it's practical.
Do you prioritize Calgary or Chestermere?
Neither. Both are equal priority markets, not a home base with an outer service radius tacked on.
Does the ~$2,000 minimum change depending on where I am?
No. Local Lawns' roughly $2,000 standalone minimum is the same in Calgary, Chestermere, Airdrie, Okotoks, Strathmore, Langdon, Cochrane and Rocky View County — it reflects the cost of mobilizing a crew and equipment, not the drive. Smaller jobs are usually bundled with another project rather than priced on their own.
Are the watering rules the same across your service area?
No — and it matters for new sod. Calgary runs a year-round outdoor watering schedule; Chestermere buys its water from Calgary but doesn't follow that schedule, and adopts Calgary's restriction stages only when they're enacted. If you are laying sod, check the rules for your own municipality rather than assuming your neighbour's apply — the Calgary watering guide covers the 21-day new-sod schedule exemption and what changes if outdoor water restrictions are declared.
Which cities does Local Lawns actually serve?
Calgary and Chestermere as equal first priorities, plus Airdrie, Okotoks, Strathmore, Langdon, Cochrane and Rocky View County. Local Lawns is based in Chestermere and is owner-operated by Harman Gill, so the same crew works across all of them.
