Six-foot weeds to new sod in Creekstone, Calgary
The back yard had been left alone long enough that the weeds were over six feet tall — not a patchy lawn, a yard that had gone completely to seed. The old fence was on its way out too.
The homeowner was also having a deck built as part of the same project and wanted the ground around and underneath it finished, not left as bare dirt.

How we cleared six feet of weeds and rebuilt the yard
- Clear. Stripped the six-foot weed growth and the lawn underneath it with the Bobcat MT100 — at that height the root mass runs through the whole yard, not patches you can spot-treat.
- Demo old fence. Removed the old fence and hauled it out along with the weed debris.
- Grade. Re-cut the grade across the cleared yard and shaped the ground under and around where the new deck was going in.
- Fence. Set new posts below frost, concreted them, and built a fully new fence line.
- Pathway. Laid a stepping-stone path with a Rundle rock border tying it into the beds.
- Sod. Screened topsoil, then fresh #1 nursery sod across the rebuilt yard, tight seams, cut clean around the path and deck posts.
- Finish. Coordinated timing with the deck contractor so the landscaping went in around their work instead of after it, full site clean-up, walkthrough.
